G.S. Long Co. has an in-house research and development team that evaluates new products and programs for potential use in the tree and vine market. Our R and D team perform the test plots themselves.  Every aspect of the process including plot setup, product application, plot evaluation, and conclusions are performed by our team.  New products and programs go through at least three years of consistent evaluation to prove their benefits and crop safety before they are recommended to  customers for widespread usage.

The initial field trials are initially setup at the Long Ranch (above) in Naches.  Test plots are also conducted in cooperation with our growers.  G.S. Long has a large and diverse customer base that are able to help us with test plots.  G.S. Long also works with the various chemical manufacturers to set up test plots for their new products.  We work directly with the manufacturer in setting up, applying, and evaluating these test plots.
